Office holders must adhere to the highest ethical standards when carrying out their work.

Who does the code belong to?

The code applies to:

• Members of the Cabinet The Attorney General,
• if they are a member of the Oireachtas
• Chairman and deputy chairman of the Dáil and the Senate
• Oireachtas committee chairs.

What does the code cover?

The code sets out principles that you, as an office holder, must adhere to. You must respect the trust placed in you by public places, and apply the highest ethical standards when doing your work.
